Dhanteras also known as the festival of...
Many times in life, we are confronted with troubles that seem to have no end. We find ourselves lost inside a dark tunnel and find it hard to believe that there can be light at the end of the tunnel. Every hope seems to be lost. Our Mentor tells, this is the time to pray, it is the time to connect to GOD. It is rightly said that problems bring us close to GOD. When troubles surround us, we are Divinely protected and that protection is felt when we PRAY. Metaphorically, in the burning world, prayer is like taking refuge in the island of peace.
In the normal days, when life runs smoothly, prayer, for most of the people, becomes a superficial and mechanical task, that is being uttered as a matter of routine. The essence of prayer, that is, uninterrupted connection with the divine, remains lost. A Spiritual Master, i.e. Satguru plays a very important role in our life by explaining us the real meaning and real way of praying to GOD.
How to talk to GOD?
Satguru, a majestic personality, who evolves our life, is adorable. He is the most respectful for He tells us the reality of the false world and helps us connect to GOD. Guru says, every worldly relationship that seems to be so strong will one day vanish. The only true relationship is that with GOD that has ever existed and will exist forever.
Even the false worldly relations seem to get strengthened with words like “I am yours and you are mine”, let us strengthen our true relationship with GOD by repeatedly saying-
This way we convey our love and gratitude to GOD and He reciprocates His love in innumerable ways. Guru says, make God your best friend, and share everything with HIM.
There are different prayers that we can do- Prayer for strength-
Prayer for healing-
Prayer for His Divine grace-
Two easy ways of praying to GOD, guided by our Divine Mentor-
1) GOD’s name is highly pure and makes us pure by vanishing all our sins that we have ever committed. GOD has put all His energy in His name, chanting which we get over the boundaries of physical and mental realms. The following Mahamantra is itself a prayer-
2) In Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, chapter 8, verse 7, Lord Krishna says to Arjuna, ”constantly remember me at all times and fight, offering your mind and spiritual intelligence unto me, surely you will surely attain me”.
Guru says, doing only work is not worship but doing it along with the remembrance of GOD is worship. Prayer is actually remembering GOD while doing every task. But remembering GOD in the midst of worldly pleasures is beyond our capacity. Guru says that just repeatedly say-
This short and best prayer will strengthen our feeling of surrender (samarpan) and will invite the greatest of all, GOD’s love and remembrance in our life.
Hare Krishna !!
